Vacation to Florida

Got back last week from Florida. Had a chance to see family, both Lauren and my parents and some friend Got some reading finished.

Read David Brooks' book "On Paradise Drive", recommend those who are doing ministry in the suburbs or "exurbs".

And I was on a role, for I also finished Brian McLaren's latest book, "The Secret Message of Jesus." McLaren's book always intrigue me and make me think. There are parts that I will disagree and other times he will greatly provoke my thinking. This book definitely didn't disappoint. I appreciated his unpacking the theme of the kingdom and I found his thoughts valuable. In the day and age of the Davinci Code and Gospel of Judas, I just wish he would have picked a different title. Altogether, a very fun, relaxing and enjoyable Florida vacation, reading, relaxing and soaking in the sun.
