The Mystery of Theology

Came across this quote in a book that I just finished reading, "Calvinism in the Las Vegas Airport"

"British monk, Thomas Weinandy says we should not think of theology primarily as a problem-solving activity. Rather, it is best understood as "a mystery-discerning enterprise." When we solve a problem all of our puzzles disappear, and this is not what we should normally expect in theological exploration. The most we can usually hope for when we think carefully about a theological topic, is to see "more precisely and clearly what the mystery is.""

I think this has truth in it. I remember that going through my seminary career didn't make me more confident that I had all my questions answered,but rather it only generated more questions.
